The MC-SPCA is a caring shelter for unwanted, abused, neglected or abandoned animals. We strive to find loving and caring homes for all animals.
We are located on Route 5S, on the South side of Amsterdam, NY.
Animals are available for adoption or fostering. If you are interested in adopting please check out our Adopt a Pet page. If you are unable to adopt but would like to foster an animal please fill out a Foster Care Application. If you don't find the pet you are looking for you may want to visit the Private Adoption page.
In addition to providing a safe shelter for animals, the MC-SPCA also participates in a low cost spay or neutering program. If you would like to help support the spay and neuter program please click here for more information.

Pets of the Month
My name is NOLA and I was found as a hungry, lonely stray on 2/23/08. I'm well behaved, spayed, litter box trained, tested for Feline Leukemia & FIV and vaccinated. I'm very pretty with my long flowing fur coat. They keep me well groomed and manicured at the animal shelter. I'm ready to spend the rest of my days loving you!

My name is Skiddy and I am 5 Years old. I am a Female Lab and Shepard mix. I am cool, calm and relaxed. You might remember me talking about my friend Desmond. Well Desmond went to a Foster home. So I have another friend Sunshine. I get along with all animals. I just go with the flow. I would rather be home with someone quiet. I like to walk, but I also like to relax and watch TV too. So if you need a friend to keep you company come and see me at the MCSPCA.

Directions:
We are housed on Route 5S, 1.5 miles east of Route 30. The actual address is:1007 Route 5S, Amsterdam, New York.
From the New York State Thruway, Exit #27 for Amsterdam:
After the tool booth take a right turn onto Route 30 North, and then the next right, a ramp to Route 5S. Procede right going East on Route 5S 1.5 miles on the right hand side is the animal shelter.
Coming from the North: Route 30 South thru the City of Amsterdam to Route 5S. Take a right going East about 1.5 miles on the right hand side is the animal shelter.
