New Shelter Building Fund Donations
The Montgomery County SPCA's 7th Annual Dog Walk and Pet Party
Thank you to everyone that came with or without a family dog and for making our 7th Annual Dog Walk and Pet Party a success! Together you raised almost $8,000.00 for our new shelter building fund. Thank you to all who collected donations for the dog walk. We are a few steps closer to our goal of building a much needed larger facility on Route5S bordering the City of Amsterdam.
The weather was sunny and brisk for the event. Everyone there had a great time, including the many dogs that attended. The dog walk was a scenic route through Shuttleworth Park. There was a doggie obstacle course, a pet costume contest, a pet party celebration with cake, horse rides by Wayne Face, cats & dogs for adoption from the animal shelter and rescues, blessing of the animals by Deacon Michael Ryba, K-9 demonstration by City of Amsterdam Police Officer Pasquarelli and K-9 Hyde, dog obedience demos, micro-chipping, face-painting of your favorite animal & caricatures of yourself or pet by Doodles the Caricature Drawing Clown and lots of food and fun. Many venders came to sell their wares or promote their business in support of the many homeless animals at our shelter. Prizes were awarded to contest winners and walkers who collected donations.
